Cleveland Heights High School graduate wins scholarship in national essay contest
Lewis Pollis doesn’t believe many of today’s major league baseball stars could have done what Jackie Robinson did more than 60 years ago. Lewis, a recent graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, received one of two $2,500 scholarships from the Negro Leagues Committee of the Society of American Baseball Research as a result of its first national essay contest.
