As Berlee alum, and a scholarship recipient, I think you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. If you had a problem with not getting what you wanted because others were “gumming” things up then it’s your own fault. Everyone there has the same opportunities if they go for them. Maybe if you spent more time in the woodshed or networking, and less time blasting the school online you would actually have a decent paying job.

well when I was there they actually sent out a letter/email saying that the most successful students in the past at Berklee were the ones who dropped out early…kind of a manipulative way to encourage dropping out. I remember I got really pissed off when I read that

I understand that after 2 years they just tell the lesser talents that they cant come back. Thats why you have such small graduating classes. Out of 100 freshman guitar players only 4 graduated.

even though i’ve never been to berklee or met anyone who has been, i do believe that half of the school are just rich kids with no raw skill at all.

With the hallways crowded with hip-hoppers, indie rockers, and electronic dj’s who weren’t there for the right reasons and shouldn’t have been accepted in the first place, it was impossible to get what I wanted because they gummed up the works.

This is a perfect example of Berklee using celebrities to mske itself look like a legitimate music school. when it’s really a scam.

I want a scholarship so bad, I know music so much I lag on everything else exept reading. Damn They even took me out of band cause of it!

I had a piano teacher, she was really great at jazz and could teach amazingly well, but she moved off from the school I was learning at to teach at Berklee and now is in the 5-week program. I’m giving up going to the jazz camp in farmington, ME to try to get into the 5-week summer. ANy tips on writing essays for scholarships??

to people who have been accepted to berklee, what kind of grades do you need to be accepted? I would love to study bass there and become a session musician.

dam its such a good college but i could never afford it.. this scholarship would be my only hope and music is my life, but man i dont know if i could compete with everyone in the world…
